How to watch the 2026 UIL State Track & Field Meet in Austin

The State Track & Field Meet is one of UIL’s biggest annual events. It certainly features the most athletes and merits an overall attendance number rivaled only by the state football championships.

Tens of thousands of spectators will descend upon Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin to watch hundreds of high school athletes participate in the UIL State Track Meet on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Every class and region is represented over the three-day meet with action starting at 9 a.m. each day with the 3,200 meters along with field events that are interspersed throughout the day. Running finals begin at 5 p.m.

A more detailed schedule with state qualifiers from Amarillo, Lubbock, Abilene, San Angelo, Wichita Falls, Corpus Christi and El Paso can be found, at this link.

Class 3A and 4A are scheduled for Thursday with Class 5A, 2A and wheelchair competitions slated for Friday. The meet wraps up Saturday with Class 6A and Class A.

Reporters and photographers from five different USA Today Texas properties are combining to cover the event, focusing on the more than 600 athletes from the Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Lubbock, San Angelo and Wichita Falls areas who qualified for state.
