The Houston Texans haven’t been a popular prime-time team over the last decade, though last season marked a change following a breakout season from C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. With a 10-7 finish, Houston maxed out the limit of five night games last season, including a pair of showdowns on Sunday Night Football.
This year, they won’t quite hit the maximum but they are scheduled to play four prime-time games in 2025.
Everything seems to be split in half this fall, so as long as the team is still in contention and healthy, there shouldn’t be much concern about the Texans being flexed out of those spots. Two of them will be on Monday Night Football, giving the Texans a longer week twice this season, but they will have some added rest heading into the following week.
Here’s a look at each of their prime-time games in 2025.

The Texans get two prime-time games at home and two on the road, including three games against first-place teams across the league. The best part is half of their prime-time games are on Monday Night Football, so they’ll have a long week twice in 2025.
Their first night game comes against the Buccaneers as part of the Texans’ home opener in Week 2. That’s unsurprising considering how last season Houston opened the year on prime-time against the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. They’ll then host the Bills in Week Midnight on Thursday Football.
Late in the season, the Texans will travel to Arrowhead for a date against the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of last season’s divisional round showdown in the postseason. Both teams should have a clear understanding of where they stand among contenders in the conference since kickoff is scheduled for Dec. 7.
