After another magnificent season that ended just short of a national championship, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders are gearing up for another run at the College World Series in 2027.
On Monday afternoon, a group of four top players announced that they will be returning for next year, headlined by Pitcher Kaitlyn Terry, who said, “words aren’t enough. red raider nation, thank you! see y’all next season!” on her Instagram.
Terry, a UCLA transfer, was great for the Lady Raiders in her first season in Lubbock, going 24-3 with a 1.97 ERA and a 172-34 strikeout-to-walk split. She came up big for Texas Tech throughout the postseason and was a major factor in their title contention.
Second baseman Mia Williams, a Florida Gators transfer, also announced on social media that she will come back for one more ride after hitting .430 with 92 hits and 27 home runs this year, both career highs.
Another returner will be catcher Jazzy Burns, an Ohio State transfer who was also a major piece of the lineup for the Lady Raiders this spring. Burns hit .356 with 19 home runs and 60 RBIs on the year.
And finally, third baseman Taylor Pannell announced that she will be returning as well after coming to Lubbock from Tennessee. Pannell has one more year of eligibility after playing in only six games as a freshman, and hit .344 with 75 hits and 13 home runs this year for the Lady Raiders.
