Texas A&M basketball is in a bizarre spot amid head coach Buzz Williams’s uncertain future, as rumors and legitimate reports regarding his flirtation with the vacant HC position at Maryland have yet to reach its final stage, but so far, it’s business as usual at the start of the week.
On Monday, the Aggies’ already-depleted 2025 roster amid the eight seniors, including the program’s all-time leading scorer Wade Taylor IV, who have departed, took another hit as former walk-on Jaelyn Lee entered the transfer portal, joining forward Rob Dockery as the second player to hit the portal.
After earning a scholarship last season, Lee appeared in 15 games over two seasons. At 6’8″, he was one of the tallest guards on the team. He was a team favorite due to his leadership qualities and steadfast dedication to the program, even though his playtime was never guaranteed.
Lee’s speed and athleticism at his size will garner interest in the portal despite his lack of stats and court time. Lee joins Wade Taylor, Zhuric Phelps, Manny Obaseki, CJ Wilcher, and Hayden Hefner as the Aggies guards who have departed the program.
