Former Texas A&M running back led the UFL in rushing yards

It’s never a surprise when former Texas A&M players shine at the next level, and for Aggie fans who remember Jimbo Fisher’s top-ranked running back recruit in the 2018 recruiting class, Jashaun Corbin, his time in College Station may have been short. Still, his football journey has continued despite several bumps in the road.

After two seasons with Texas A&M, Corbin decided to transfer back to Florida State, as the Florida native felt he could reach his star potential with the Seminoles compared to the rising competition with the Aggies, immediately making an impact in the SEC during the 2021 season with 887 yards and seven touchdown, while notching 25 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown.

Like many players who feel they’re ready for the NFL, Corbin surprisingly declared for the 2022 NFL Draft, but was not selected, opting to sign with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent. However, his NFL career was short-lived, following offseason stints with the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants for a second time, which led to his impressive ascendance in the United Football League with the San Antonio Brahmas.

After signing with the Brahmas, joining former Texas A&M QB Kellen Mond, Corbin’s success during his final season with the Seminoles was reignited, as the 24-year-old running back led the league with 514 rushing yards, showcasing his elite footwork and versatility as a receiver throughout the year.

After a short break, Corbin is back and appears to be his old self, which could garner NFL interest down the line if he continues to perform at a high level.
