A former Houston Texans standout is on a new roster for the second week of OTAs.
According to reports, the New York Giants and special teamer Braxton Berrios have agreed to terms on a one-year deal. The move was considered to be a priority since Berrios could elevate New York’s return game and provide depth at wide receiver.
Earlier this week returner Gunner Olszewski was carted off the field and will miss the entire 2026 season with Achilles injury.
Berrios has established himself as one of the NFL’s most dependable specialists over the past five seasons. The 30-year-old earned first-team All-Pro honors as a punt returner with the New York Jets in 2021 and consistently made impacts across the field return game throughout his career.
Last season in Houston, Berrios began the year as the top returner, but eventually moved down to the secondary role following the emergence of rookie Jaylin Noel. In 12 games, he totaled six catches for 37 yards while averaging 27 yards per kick return.
In his NFL career, Berrios has amassed 140 receptions for 1,360 yards and six touchdowns. The Texans will host the New York Giants in Week 7, following their international trip to England to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
