FBSW spirit card program raises record funds for area schools

Area schools and districts received $72,059.50 through FirstBank Southwest’s School Spirit Debit Card Program during the 2025 program year, the bank announced Friday, March 6.

The annual fund payout reflects debit card usage by customers across participating school districts throughout the Texas Panhandle. This year, funds were distributed to 25 different schools and/or districts.

The FBSW School Spirit Debit Card Program connects everyday debit card use with school funding through customized cards, which feature each school’s logo or mascot. FBSW said the card use is tracked throughout the year, and then funds are distributed directly to participating school districts, which they can use at their discretion.

The $72,059.50 payout represented the program’s highest annual distribution to date.
