School is out for summer, and after baseball season came to an end in early June, the high school sports calendar in the Lone Star State is clear until August.
The 2024-25 school year saw multiple teams in the Texas Panhandle win state titles, including Randall boys wrestling, Canyon boys cross country, Wildorado boys golf and the Raiders’ team tennis squad.
To commemorate another strong athletics campaign in the area, the Amarillo Globe-News wants to know who fans think should be the Boys Athlete of the Year.
Throughout the season, fans voted for Happy State Bank Athlete of the Week, with the player who received the most votes picking up the honor. Now, each player who was nominated for Athlete of the Week is up for Globe-News Athlete of the Year.
The poll will close Monday, June 30, and the winner will be announced shortly after. See nominees for the award below.
