The Del Valle High School softball team was eliminated by Grapevine High School on Friday in the Class 5A, Division 2 regional semifinals of the Texas UIL playoffs.
The two teams played at Andrews High School.
Grapevine won the series opener, 13-1, on Thursday night and closed out the best two of three series on Friday with an 11-1 win.
Grapevine (21-10) advances to next week’s regional final and Del Valle finishes 25-14-2. Del Valle defeated Burges and Abilene Wylie to reach the regional semifinals.
In Thursday’s game, Mia Estrada and Briyana Molina each had a hit for Del Valle. In Friday’s game, Andrea Salcedo led the DVHS offense with two hits.
