A 41-year-old man died and a 10-year-old girl was injured in a crash in El Paso’s Upper Valley, authorities said.
Raymundo Carlos Martinez of El Paso died after he was injured in a crash about 8:40 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the intersection of Doniphan Drive and Redd Road, El Paso Police Department spokesperson Officer Adrian Cisneros wrote in a news release.
Martinez was a passenger in a 2005 Chrysler 300 driven by a 51-year-old man on Doniphan Drive, the news release states. A 10-year-old girl also was a passenger in the Chrysler.
The Chrysler driver was making a U-turn at the intersection when a 2016 Dodge Journey driven by a 31-year-old woman T-boned the Chrysler, the news release states.
Martinez, the 10-year-old girl, and the Dodge driver were taken to hospitals for treatment. Martinez died at the hospital because of the injuries he suffered in the wreck, the news release states. No information was released on the severity of the injuries suffered by the girl or the Dodge driver.
No further information was released as the El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations officers continue to investigate the crash.
This is the 26th traffic-related death of 2025 compared to 28 at this same time last year.
