Rodriguez secured his second win of the tournament after earning every judge’s card, winning each round 5-0. Rodriguez’s win marks his first international gold medal in his Elite international tournament debut.

On Saturday, Rodriguez claimed a unanimous decision victory over Sweden’s Joshua Muyinda after a 4-1 score in the opening round and a pair of 5-0 scores in each of the final two frames to earn a trip to the finals.

“The tournament was great. I’m grateful for the support from the community and USA Boxing,” Rodriguez said. “I feel I did well, I’m excited for what the future holds for me. I’m happy to show the younger youth that with hard work and dedication the sky is the limit, I’m so happy for this opportunity.”

Rodriguez was one of eight fighters from the United States to earn a medal.
