El Paso Easter egg hunts offer family fun this weekend

It’s about that time to grab your baskets and enjoy an Easter egg hunt — or two.

Easter is Sunday, April 5, and there are several Easter egg hunts happening this weekend where families can enjoy games, food and embark on a journey to find those festive eggs.

From snapping photos with the Easter bunny on a farm to a festive color run, here are Easter egg hunts you won’t want to miss this season.

The Solana Easter Extravaganza

The Shoppes at Solana will have pictures with the Easter Bunny, free candy-filled eggs, and face painting from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 4.

El Paso Country Club

The El Paso Country Club is hosting an egg hunt for children of all ages on Saturday, April 4. Children under the age of 3 will meet at the front circle lawn at 10:30 a.m., while older children (4 years and up) get a treat with a helicopter — yes, we said helicopter — egg drop on the golf driving range at 10: 40 a.m.

Brunch will also be served at 11 a.m., along with face painting and crafts.

The cost of the event is $47 for adults; children ages 4-10 are $20; and children ages 3 and under are free. Reservations can be made by calling 915-584-1111 or by visiting elpasocountryclub.com.

City of Socorro’s Easter Extravaganza & Color Run

The City of Socorro is hosting its free annual Easter Extravaganza & Color Run starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, at Bulldog Championship Park, 316 Buford Road.

After the color run, the festivities begin with games, a live DJ, food trucks, and an age-grouped egg hunt at 11: 30 a.m. The event is open to all ages, and you can also bring your furry friends.

Jungle Reef El Paso

The aquarium inside Shoppes at Solana is hosting an all-day Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m on Saturday, April 4.

Jungle Reef will hide one special golden egg every hour with a grand prize inside.

Entry into Jungle Reef is required to participate.

Horizon City Police Department

The Horizon City Police Department is hiding eggs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at Town Center Park, located at 13741 Town Center Drive in Horizon City.

The event will have a festive Easter egg hunt, candy, and food trucks and vendors.

El Paso Public Library

The Main Library (at 501 North Oregon) is hosting a special Family Story Time event with Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 4.
