The Tool Box, a popular gay bar that’s been open for more than 20 years in Downtown, has expanded with a new location.
The new spot, located at 2106 N. Zaragoza Road, will operate from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Tuesday through Saturday, according to a Facebook post.
“Tell your friends, tell your girls, tell your gays… and tell anyone looking for a great time! Come experience THE East Side’s LGBTQ+ friendly bar with the best vibes, cold drinks, and the perfect spot to hang out—whether you’re inside or enjoying our patio,” the post said.
The Tool Box’s new location comes after customers in the El Paso and Horizon areas shared concerns about travel time and ride-share prices, the business told the El Paso Times.
“We opened Tool Box East to give the community a safe and welcoming place to enjoy a night out while being a little closer to home,” owners shared.
The original Toolbox location opened in May 2006 on Stanton Street in the heart of El Paso’s Pride District.
