The Dallas Cowboys’ running back situation has been the talk of the fanbase recently. Free agent Nick Chubb, who ESPN has as the best fit for the Cowboys, has the approval of former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. While it’s just a hypothetical situation, the team normally heads into training camp to evaluate what they have before making a move. Chubb could be an option if they feel they need more behind Javonte Williams then.
There is another player currently on the team who has continues to garner a ton of media attention, George Pickens. This time, the talk involves fellow receiver CeeDee Lamb and the potential cost for Dallas to keep both after the 2026 season. Few teams have gone down the path of giving two receivers top-of-the-market contracts, bu Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is facing that reality. If Pickens has another strong season, he’ll garner more interest from teams, raising his price in the process. Leaving Jones and Dallas with a choice: pay two receivers and limit future cap space, or try trading him to get decent compensation.
