El Paso native Tuff Hedeman, a four-time World Champion bull rider and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer, rides into the El Paso County Coliseum this Saturday, Feb. 21 for a big night of nonstop action.
His 21st annual Bull Riding Extravaganza will be preceded by a tailgate party in the north end of the coliseum.
The Wiz, the groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz will have performances Wednesday through Sunday, Feb. 18-22 at the Plaza Theatre.
And El Pasoans are invited to celebrate Black History Month with an event Saturday, Feb. 21. Don’t forget the Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon.

El Paso Museum of Art exhibits
The El Paso Museum of Art, which reopened recently, has several new art exhibits for El Pasoans to enjoy. El Paso artists Suzi Davidoff’s exhibit, “Wander,” will open with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in the Hunt Gallery at the museum, behind the Tom Lea Gallery. Other exhibits by local artists include Rachelle Thiewes and Mitsu Overstreet.
The Wiz
The Wiz, the groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz with its iconic soul, gospel, rock and 70s funk, will have performances Wednesday, Feb. 18-22, at the Plaza Theatre. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday. It is part of the Broadway in El Paso series. Tickets, starting at $41 plus tax, are available at Ticketmaster.com.
Black History Month author event postponed
A Black History Month event celebrating Black authors, artists and storytellers in El Paso set for Saturday, Feb. 21 at El Paso Community College Administrative Services Center, 9050 Viscount Blvd has been postponed.
Candlelight concerts
Candlelight concerts are held monthly at various locations, such as the St. Roger’s Depot, 420 N. Campbell Drive, near Downtown, or the El Paso Zoo. Each concert is themed, whether it features music by a particular famous singer or is tied to a popular show. Upcoming is Candlelight: 90s Hip-Hop on Strings at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 26 and March 12. Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Extravaganza
Four-time World Champion Bull Rider and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer Tuff Hedeman will bring his 21st annual Bull Riding Extravaganza to the El Paso County Coliseum at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The tailgate-down party and concert will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot. The bull riding event will be at 8 p.m. Parking is $5. Event tickets ranging from $40 to $135, plus fees, available at Ticketmaster.com and Coliseum Box Office.
El Paso Marathon
The Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon is scheduled for 7 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22.
In 2026, the El Paso Marathon races will return to our roots when we once again finish in Downtown, just as the marathon did for our first race in 2007. This route gives spectators a chance to see what’s happening in El Paso’s historic and unique Downtown.
The marathon is a qualifier for the Boston and the Abbott Age Group Championship marathons.
The event also features the Raiz Federal Credit Union Half Marathon and the Spine & Rehab Specialists 5K. All the events feature international competitors.
Interested in learning about engineering roles?
The El Paso Water is host a community event to explore engineering through hands-on activities and interactive challenges aimed at children ages 5 and older.
Children can learn engineering concepts, including the role engineers play in water systems and public infrastructure. Prizes, drawings and food vendors are part of the program.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the TechH2O Center, 10751 Montana Ave. And best of all it’s free. Here is a link to seek additional information: tech2o.org.
