Cardinals lose key offensive weapon ahead of Texans game

When the Houston Texans take on the Arizona Cardinals, a key pass-catcher won’t take the field at NRG Stadium.

The Cardinals will be without star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. this week against the Texans, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon. The third-year coach said that Harrison was still dealing with a heel injury, which prevented him from practicing all week.

Harrison, the former No. 4 overall pick in 2024, joins offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr., defensive back Rabbit Taylor-Demerson, cornerback Max Melton and safety Jalen Thompson as players who officially were ruled out of Sunday’s contest in what could be a signature win for Houston at home. With the victory, the Texans would move to nine wins, promising a third straight winning season under coach DeMeco Ryans.

Since landing out west out of Ohio State, Harrison has struggled through 2025, falling short of league-high expectations during his sophomore campaign. This comes one year after his rookie season was widely considered as a letdown campaign after failing to lead the team in recieving yards.

This will be the fourth game Harrison has missed out of the past five for an injury. Gannon did tell reporters that he expects Harrison to return at some point before the season is over.

Kickoff against the Texans is scheduled for noon CT.
