Summer is sometimes considered a dead time for sports, particularly after the NBA and NHL crown their champions and baseball has much of the national sports stage to itself, but this summer is a particularly busy one.
In addition to the remaining golf and tennis majors, the first expanded Club World Cup will take center stage through June and July, then the fight of the year, Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford in September, provides a closing bookend to summer.
Here are some highlights.
When does the French Open conclude?
The two week tournament concludes with the men’s singles finals on Friday, June 6, while the women’s finals are Saturday, June 7.
The finals “are not to begin before 3 p.m.” Paris time, which is 7 a.m. Mountain time. The matches are on TNT and truTV.
When do the NHL Stanley Cup finals begin?
The series between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers, a rematch of last year’s Stanley Cup Finals, begins Wednesday night at 6 p.m. All games are on TNT and truTV.
The series would end with a potential Game 7 on Friday, June 20
When do the NBA finals start?
Oklahoma City and Indiana begin their best-of-seven series Thursday night, in Oklahoma City, at 6:30 p.m. MT/7:30 p.m. CT. All games in the series will be on ABC.
A potential Game 7 would come on Sunday, June 22.
When is the Belmont Stakes?
The final jewel of horse racing’s triple crown is Saturday, June 7 with post time at 5:04 p.m. MT/6:04 CT at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
The race will pit the Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty against Preakness winner Journalism.
When is the U.S. Open golf tournament?
The third major of the year will be at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania from June 12-15. NBC, USA, and the Golf Channel will cover the tournament, with the final round on NBC.
When is the FIFA Club World Cup?
The 32-team FIFA Club World Cup begins its month-long run on June 14. The championship is June 13.
The tournament is greatly expanded this year (it was seven teams the last time it was held in 2023) and now will be once every four years.
The tournament is being held at 12 venues across the United States, all on either the East Coast or West Coast. The 32 teams include 12 from Europe, three from the MLS and two from Liga MX.
The tournament begins on June 14 with Egyptian side Al Ahly playing at Inter Miami. Every match during the 2025 FIFA World Cup will be live streamed for free on DAZN.com.
When is the Gold Cup?
The championship for CONCACAF runs from June 14 to July 6 at venues across the U.S. and Canada, including Arlington, Texas, Austin and Houston.
The tournament begins with Mexico taking on the Dominican Republic on June 14 in Inglewood, Calif. Fox Sports and TUDN are the primary broadcasters.
When do Jake Paul and Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. fight?
The internet superstar Paul and the son of a legend square off on June 28 in Anaheim, Calif. It will be available on DAZN Pay-Per-View.
When is Wimbledon?
Tennis’ third major runs June 30 to July 13 in London. ESPN is the primary broadcaster.
When is Major League Baseball’s All-Star game?
The Mid-Summer Classic is set for July 15 in Atlanta. The 6 p.m. Mountain time/7 p.m. Central time game will be televised on FOX.
When is the British Open?
The final major of the golf season is July 17 to July 20 at Royal Portrush Golf Club, Northern Ireland. NBC and the Golf Channel are the primary broadcasters.
When does Manny Pacquiao fight again?
Manny Pacquaiuo fights Mario Barrios on July 19 in Las Vegas.
When is the U.S. Open tennis tournament?
The final major of the 2025 tennis season runs from August 25 to September 7 in New York. ESPN is the primary broadcaster.
When is UFC Noche 25?
UFC’s celebration of Mexican Culture will serve as UFC 320 and will be Saturday, Sept. 13. Originally scheduled for Guadalajara, Mexico, delays in construction of the venue have seen the event moved to San Antonio’s Frost Center.
The card has yet to be announced.
When does Canelo Alvarez fight Terence Crawford?
Boxing’s biggest event this year is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13. It was originally scheduled for Sept. 12 but was pushed back. The venue is still being negotiated but Las Vegas is likely.
