An Amarillo man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Randall County early Sunday, authorities said.
Diego Hernandez, 22, of Amarillo, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries he sustained in the crash.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Hernandez was driving a 2022 GMC Sierra south on South Western Street at about 5:38 a.m. May 31 when he failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle left the roadway.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the GMC then struck a parked goose-neck trailer with its front end and rolled over onto its right side.
Road conditions were dry and clear in a 45 mph zone, and the driver had been wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
