All-NBA Teams were revealed Sunday night, with Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant earning second-team honors. This was Durant’s 12th time earning All-NBA honors and his first with Houston after being acquired by the Phoenix Suns last summer. The only other Rocket to receive votes was two-time All-Star Alperen Sengun.
After averaging 20.4 points, 8.9 rebounds 6.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks. Sengun received one second-team vote and three votes for the All-NBA Third Team. This put him at a tie for 19th among qualified players with former Houston Rocket James Harden (Cavaliers), as the duo fell 81 points short of Chet Holmgren (Thunder), who earned the final spot. An All-NBA nod would’ve been the first of Sengun’s career, and it would have marked the first time two Rockets made an All-NBA team in the same season since the 2019-20 season, when the aforementioned Harden did so with Russell Westbrook.
