Voters in Texas approved a series of tax exemptions and bans as well as new investments in state infrastructure and research as all 17 constitutional amendments on the ballot passed on Tuesday, according to the Texas Tribune.
Tom Green County also passed all of the amendments at the polls on Tuesday, including the Wall ISD Proposition A.
The proposition will ratify the ad valorem tax rate of 77.03 cents per $100 of property valuation in Wall ISD for this year, officials said.
The rate will result in an increase of 12% in maintenance and operations tax revenue for the district for this year as compared to the preceding year, which is an additional $848,421, officials said.
The district said with the funding, it will recruit teachers and staff, work within a balanced budget, strengthen programs and more.
There were 728 votes or 71% for the proposition and 291 votes or 29% against it, according to the unofficial election results.
After all unofficial results were posted, the closest race was for Proposition 14, which would provide $3 billion in funding for dementia research.
The next closest was Proposition 6, which would ban the creation of new taxes on securities transactions.
There were 10,004 ballots cast by in-person and mail voters, according to election officials. There are 72,042 registered voters in Tom Green County.
