An Abilene man was killed during an outing on Possum Kingdom Lake on June 6.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife department said in a press release that Texas game wardens, officers from the Palo Pinto Sheriff’s Office and paramedics were called to the lake that evening.
Investigators learned the 23-year-old victim was being pulled on a tube behind a boat when he was struck by the boat’s propeller.
The man, whom the TPWD did not name in a news release on the incident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The release said the driver of the boat, 21-year-old Justin Mitchell Pillard was charged with intoxication manslaughter. Two others were on the boat at the time of the incident, TPWD said.
