Travis Hunter reportedly buys Jacksonville home formerly owned by NFL Hall of Famer

Travis Hunter has reportedly found his home in Jacksonville. And it’s one that has already seen one of its residents enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The electric Jaguars rookie has been making splash after splash since bursting onto the scene at Jackson State before winning the Heisman Trophy at Colorado and getting drafted No. 2 overall in April’s NFL draft. Hunter is practicing with both the offense as a wide receiver and defense as a cornerback with plans on playing both on the sport’s biggest stage.

Hunter is a Florida native who has made plenty of big purchases already. He bought a five-bedroom house for his mom in Savannah, Georgia, in 2024. And his wedding gift for his new wife, Leanna Lenne, was a Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 BRABUS 800.

The couple had been living in Hunter’s home in Boulder, Colorado, while they hunted for a new house in “Duuuval” County. Now they’ve found one in Deerwood Country Club, Jacksonville’s oldest gated community, in a deal that reportedly set the record for the community.

Where is Travis Hunter’s home?

According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, Travis Hunter and his wife, Leanna De La Fuente (aka Leanna Lenne), bought a $3.275 million mansion in the gated Deerwood Country Club community in Jacksonville. The home is reportedly 8,125 square feet with two stories, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms with a four-car garage, a pool and a tennis court.

The home was reportedly built in 1995 and was formerly owned by LeRoy Butler, a Hall of Fame safety and Super Bowl champion born in Jacksonville who played 11 seasons with the Green Bay Packers from 1990-2001. Deerwood is also home to former Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee and former Jags defensive tackle John Henderson, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.

The couple made the purchase May 30 through a limited liability company, the Jacksonville Daily Record reported. Listing agent Angela Stringfellow, with Keller Williams Realty Atlantic Partners, told the Jacksonville Daily Record that the Hunters and Travis’ brother toured the property — and 15 others around the area before that — the weekend after the NFL draft April 24.
