3 Texas Tech football players ruled out for Big 12 opener at Utah

The Texas Tech football team’s first Big 12 Conference-mandated availability report has been released ahead of the Red Raiders’ league opener Saturday at Utah.

Texas Tech had previously been putting out its own version of the injury/availability reports, but now all Big 12 teams must release them for conference games.

This week’s report for the Red Raiders has its fewest amount of “out” designations so far this season. Just three players — cornerback Tarrion Grant and offensive linemen Cash Cleveland and Holton Hendrix — are all out. Each are reserves at their respective positions.

Defensive linemen E’Maurion Banks and Amier Washington, and receiver Roy Alexander, are considered doubtful.

Several starters and notable names are probable, including tight end Terrance Carter Jr. and linebackers Romello Height and Ben Roberts.
