Texas A&M basketball has become one of the most surprising — and compelling — stories in the SEC. Just a few months ago, the only person connected to the program was Chris McDermott, the lone holdover from the Buzz Williams era. Since then, first‑year head coach Bucky McMillan has rebuilt the roster from scratch, molded a group of strangers into one of the league’s hottest teams, and done it while trying to carve out time to recruit.
That early success is starting to matter. If the Aggies keep trending upward, Texas A&M will quickly become a far more attractive destination for high‑end prospects.
One of the players already holding an offer from McMillan’s staff is four‑star forward Tyran Frazier, one of the most versatile frontcourt prospects in the 2026 class. According to On3Sports, Frazier is the No. 27 overall player and the No. 4 power forward in the country. He’s a high‑motor athlete with strong defensive instincts and averaged a double‑double as a sophomore, posting 14.5 points and 13.3 rebounds per game. Depending on the outlet, he’s listed between 6‑foot‑9 and 6‑foot‑11, making him exactly the type of long, active, interchangeable forward McMillan wants in his system.
Frazier hasn’t taken any visits yet, and his offer list continues to grow as his recruitment heats up. In a conversation with Jamie Shaw of On3, he shared where things stand with Texas A&M.
“They offered me a while ago. They tell me how much they like my versatility, and they talk about my motor and how hard I play. I haven’t visited them yet, so we’ll see.”
For now, the Aggies are in early — and that matters. If Texas A&M continues to stack wins and build national momentum under McMillan, that early evaluation could become a meaningful advantage as Frazier’s recruitment moves forward.
