Two people face murder charges after a man injured in a shooting at a residence on South Tyler died at the hospital last week.
Homicide investigators with the Amarillo Police Department obtained two murder warrants in connection with the shooting death of Jeremy Ray, 45, at a residence in the 3900 block of South Tyler Street on May 25, police said.
APD said in a June 4 update that Meghan Dawn Kern, 43, and Jaylyn Andrew Johnson, 18, were both charged with murder through the Randall County District Attorney’s Office.
Johnson was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail.
Kern was already in custody at the Potter County Detention Center on unrelated charges.
Ray was taken to a local hospital for treatment after the shooting, where he succumbed to his injuries May 29.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit had responded to the scene, and preliminary information indicated the shooting may have been a domestic violence related incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
