Did world-record holder Joey Chestnut claim his 17th victory at the 2025 Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, or did another competitive eater win the coveted Mustard Belt?
The July 4 festivities began with the women’s competition at 10:45 a.m. at the corner of Surf and Stillwell in Coney Island, New York.
Chestnut was absent from the 2024 contest after he signed an endorsement deal with Impossible Foods that called for him to endorse the company’s plant-based hot dogs. But this year marks his return, as he has since agreed to endorse only Nathan’s hot dogs as part of a three-year contract with the national chain and the International Federation of Competitive Eating, which runs the annual competition.
