Fremont Ross, Oak Harbor, Gibsonburg, Port Clinton, Bellevue, Woodmore and Lakota opened the football season with a victory.
Genoa didn’t win, but the quarterback’s stats weren’t’ the problem. Here are some of the individual standouts:
Top high school football performances from Week 1
Blake Nickel rushed for 232 yards and four touchdowns in Oak Harbor’s victory over Huron.
Jalen Wagner rushed for two scores and threw a touchdown pass in Lakota’s win over Elmwood.
Gavin Cornell caught four touchdown passes in Port Clinton’s victory over Norwalk St. Paul.
Stephen Reiter rushed for one score and caught a touchdown pass in Fremont Ross’ victory over Tiffin Columbian.
Ike Brown tossed three touchdown passes and rushed for a score in Bellevue’s win over Clyde.
Wesley Kayser caught two touchdown passes and returned an interception for a score in Woodmore’s victory over North Central.
Myles Mollenhauer tossed four touchdown passes in Genoa’s setback to Archbold.
Grant Smith rushed for 223 yards and three scores in Gibsonburg’s win over Ottawa Hills.
