The Cleveland Cavaliers are back in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2018.
After trailing 2-0 to the Detroit Pistons in the semifinals, the Cavaliers rallied to a series victory, losing Game 6 but winning Game 7 in a 125-94 blowout May 17.
Though point guard James Harden made just two of 10 field goals, the Cavaliers had four scorers with 20 points or more, led by Donovan Mitchell (26 points, 10 of 22 field goals).
The Cavaliers locked down the court defensively, forcing to Pistons to a 35.3% field goal percentage. Star guard Cade Cunningham missed all seven 3-point shots he took and finished with 13 points.
The playoff victory was the Cavaliers’ second on the road this run, giving them a 2-5 record in away games.
