It is shaping up to be a stormy start to the holiday week.
The National Weather Service says “multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms” are expected in Greater Akron on Monday.
Some of the storms on Monday could be severe.

The weather service says the severe storms are expected to develop Monday afternoon and evening in Greater Akron.
The biggest risk with the storms is damaging wind gusts.
Some of the wind gusts could be as high as 60 miles per hour.
The storms could also bring brief heavy rain that could lead to some flooding.

The Fourth of July holiday weekend forecast for Greater Akron is looking bright.
The National Weather Service says sunny skies are expected in Greater Akron on Friday with highs in the 80s.
Sunny skies with temperatures as high as 90 are expected on Saturday with a risk of showers in the forecast for Sunday.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
