MASSILLON — A downed wire and power outage near a local park resulted in a temporary closing for Walmart.
The Walmart located at 1 Massillon Marketplace Drive SW closed temporarily Saturday morning, Aug. 30, after power lines went down across the street near Arthur Genshaft Fields.
The Massillon Fire Department responded. A fire department representative said they received a call around 7 a.m. regarding the downed power lines. No fire was reported, but the lines were live and active on the ground.
FirstEnergy also responded, according to the department.
A Walmart representative said the store was back up and running as of 10:30 a.m.
