Athlete of the Week Candidates
Kylie Hostettler, Norwayne girls golf
On Monday at The Pines Golf Club, Hostettler shot 91 and finished tied for sixth place at the Division II Northeast Sectional tournament to qualifying for the district tournament.
Alaina Henthorn, Chippewa girls soccer
In Chippewa’s 3-1 home victory over Norwayne on Thursday, Henthorn scored a brace that helped the Chipps clinch the Wayne County Athletic League title.
Aubrey Burchfield, West Holmes girls golf
Burchfield shot 82 and placed third overall as an individual at the Division I East Sectional tournament at EaglesSticks Golf Club. Burchfield also helped West Holmes finish second in the team standings to advance to the district tournament.
Jacob Ott, Orrville boys golf
Ott won a sectional title at the Division II Northeast Sectional tournament at The Elms Country Club on Monday by shooting 75, while helping the Red Riders place second overall as a team.
Jordan Miller, Waynedale boys golf
Miller was a runner-up at the Division II Northeast Sectional tournament at The Elm Country Club, as he shot 77 and helped guide Waynedale to a team sectional title.
