Two men have been arrested and charged with murder in a double homicide Feb. 26 on Columbus’ Southeast Side.
Columbus police said Abdou Seye, 33, of Canal Winchester, and Brandon Colbert, 33, of Columbus, each face two counts of murder in the deaths of Antwan Lewis, 42, and Harold Forrest, 31, Columbus.
Police responded to a shooting at 4135 Blakewell Lane West at The Baylor apartment complex off of South Hamilton Road near U.S. Route 33 at about 4:35 p.m. Wednesday. One of the men found shot in the apartment was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
Seye was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Detroit on Monday. Columbus police said he was being held in the Wayne County Jail in Michigan and would be extradited to Franklin County.
Colbert was arrested Friday. According to court records, he admitted to police he drove an SUV to the apartment at the time of the shooting and dropped someone off before parking the vehicle on a side street nearby.
Colbert left the vehicle and walked toward the apartment, and halfway there, he met the unidentified male he had dropped off. Together, they ran back to the SUV and drove away, according to court records.
At an arraignment hearing Monday, Colbert’s bond was set at $500,000.
