ROSEVILLE − Twelve people were temporarily displaced due to flooding in Crooksville the night of June 16, according to information posted on the Roseville Fire Department’s Facebook page.
According to the post, Roseville was dispatched to a one-vehicle crash at Ohio 345 and Old Rainer Road at 10 p.m. When they arrived they found a vehicle in flood waters and the driver was able escape. The water was across Ohio 345 and the road was shut down. However within minutes the water receded and the Ohio Department of Transportation responded to clean the roadway.
During this time Crooksville Assistant Chief Dyrall Newlon reported several areas in Crooksville were flooded including Ohio 93, between Main Street and Ohio 669.
Those temporarily displaced live in the area of Keystone, Mill and North Buckeye streets, along with other areas in the village. The water receded and is no longer a hazard. All roads are open.
Fire departments assisting the Crooksville included Roseville, Newton Township, Somerset-Reading, South Zanesville, New Lexington and Falls Township. The Perry County Sheriff’s Office and Crooksville Police Department were also on the scene.
