CANTON ‒ The has issued a steam advisory for the afternoon of July 23.
The Canton Water Department is repairing the water line supplying the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. As a result, drivers might notice some steam in the area.
“As part of the repair process, steam is used to cure the inside of the water line,” the city said in a prepared statement. “Drivers in the surrounding area will notice steam rising from the highway. This is a normal and safe part of the repair process and is no cause for alarm.”
The steam advisory took effect at 1 p.m. The affected water line runs under Interstate 77 in Canton.
