Stark A11y to host Global Accessibility Awareness Day event

PERRY TWP. ‒ Stark A11y, an all-volunteer resource hub focused on making Stark County more accessible for those with disabilities, will host a free Global Accessibility Awareness Day event from noon to 2 p.m. May 21 at Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake, 5712 12th St. NW.

Participants can learn about digital accessibility and inclusion through a “learning in the dark” exercise and a panel discussion with members of Stark County’s disabled community. Lisa Parramore, communications manager of the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities, will provide opening remarks.

The event will provide resources and assistive technologies to ensure an inclusive environment for all participants. Sign-language interpreters provided by Triad Deaf Services, closed captioning, and tactile 3D-printed materials will be available.
