PORT CLINTON – On March 30, Ottawa County Common Pleas Court Judge Bruce Winters sentenced Austin Sabo, 25, Oak Harbor, to 28 1/2 to 34 years in prison for rape.
In November, Sabo pled guilty to the illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance (a second-degree felony), rape (first-degree felony), three counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance (fifth-degree felonies), unlawful sexual conduct with a minor (a first-degree misdemeanor), sexual battery (third-degree felony), sexual battery (third-degree felony), disseminating matter harmful to juveniles (first-degree misdemeanor) and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor (fourth-degree felony).
Sabo now must register as a Tier III Sex Offender
The 28 1/2 to 34-year prison term was the maximum sentence the court could impose based on Sabo’s guilty pleas.
He is also required to register as a Tier III Sex Offender, which requires him to register, in person, with the sheriff every 90 days for life.
