MILWAUKEE – Even on a day the Cincinnati Reds got two significant players back from injury-rehab assignments, they lost another important player.
Centerfielder Dane Myers left the opener of this week’s series against the NL Central-leading Brewers after he crashed at full speed into the wall making a lunging catch in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Myers laid on the field for several minutes, appearing to favor his left shoulder, as he was examined by team trainers and eventually carted off the field.
TJ Friedl replaced him in center.
X-ray results were pending. But Myers grimaced in pain with his arm supported while the cart exited the field.
Closer Emilio Pagán (hamstring) and starter Hunter Greene (elbow) both rejoined the team before the game for anticipated activations from the injured list Tuesday for Pagán and Friday or Saturday for Greene.
