A Tennessee-based private college has opened a campus in Dublin, offering health care-related education to central Ohio students.
South College, a private, for-profit college based out of Knoxville, Tennessee, has opened up its latest branch campus at a former office park at 5525 Parkcenter Circle near Tuttle Mall, with an expansion planned for 2027. The college plans to begin enrollment in October 2026.
According to the release, South College offers a range of healthcare-focused degree and diploma programs designed to meet the needs of students and the growing demand for skilled professionals in the region.
Scott Teffeteller, the president of the Columbus branch campus and former health care executive, said in a statement that South College “has emphasized adding campuses to cities with a demonstrated need for healthcare graduates.”
“We are committed to providing students with the tools they need to succeed in high-demand fields,” Teffeteller said. “We also look forward to building strong connections within the Columbus community as we establish and expand our campus.”
South College Columbus plans to initially offer associate programs in health science, pre-nursing, pre-pharmacy, diagnostic medical sonography, radiography and surgical technology, with plans plans to launch programs in nursing, respiratory therapy and medical assisting. It is also planning to launch bachelor’s degree programs.
A press release says those programs are pending approval, and a spokesperson said various accreditation bodies manage approval process for individual programs.
The college has campuses in Knoxville and Nashville, Tennessee, Asheville, North Carolina, Atlanta and Marietta, Georgia, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh; Dallas and Orlando, as well as online programs.
The college said it has over 20,000 students enrolled across campuses and online. A spokesperson did not immediately respond to an inquiry about projected enrollment for the Columbus campus.
