The precautionary boil water advisory issued for the Portage Lakes areas has been lifted by the City of Akron Water Supply Bureau.
Water testing completed over the last 18 hours confirmed the drinking water is safe, according to a City of Akron press release.
The advisory was placed Thursday morning due to depressurization related to a water main break on Falcon Court at Raceside Drive.
There is no indication any contamination was present during the event, according to the press release.
Customers may see periodic discoloration or water cloudiness for the next day or two, but neither are reasons to be concerned. Opening every cold-water faucet and bath or shower fixture at the same time and flushing for about five minutes will clear the water.
