Garth, a pit bull-boxer mix, is about five years old and looking for a nice home.
The friendly dog has been at the Richland County Dog Shelter, 810 N. Home Road, for about six months.
Dogs stay in their kennels almost 24 hours a day and get one walk a day.
He is a gentle dog, said employee Tristan Onie, who seemed to make Garth happy as he talked to him and petted him in a visiting room at the shelter. The all black-dog is medium-sized who is good in his kennel and waits as best he can to potty for when he is taken outside on his leash.
“He will be your best friend,” Onie said as he gave Garth a good dose of attention.
All the dogs just want to be someone’s pet and shown love in a good home.
The fee to purchase Garth, which includes a neuter, rabies vaccine, 2026 license and microchip, is $199. Kennel hours at the dog shelter are 11 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturdays. The kennel is closed Mondays for deep cleaning.
