Less than a couple of weeks after entering the transfer portal, Ohio State guard Taison Chatman has found his landing spot, and it’s with the Utah Utes.
Originally a top 40 recruit in the 2023 class, Chatman’s career in Columbus was derailed by injury. He finally got a chance to show what he could do this past season and began to show flashes of what made him so sought after coming out of high school. He started to become a dangerous option coming off the bench late in the year and shot at a high clip from beyond the arc (47.1%).

Chatman will now get a fresh start in Salt Lake City with two years of eligibility left, and Buckeye Nation should wish him nothing but the best. He makes the third Buckeye in the transfer portal to find a new home, joining Devin Royal (Villanova) and Gabe Cupps (UIC). We are still waiting word on Colin White and Mathieu Grujicic.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the comings and goings of the transfer portal with the Ohio State basketball program as news becomes available. We could still see some names coming to Columbus, as well as others still looking for new homes.
