Why we elected Trump
Re “Ohio to consider legislation on physician-assisted death,” April 28: Rep. Eric Synenberg is introducing a bill to legalize physician-assisted death in Ohio. Of course, he’s a Democrat. That shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Won’t the Democrats ever learn?
The public has had it with abortion, same-sex marriage, the LGBT fiasco and the rest of their far-left agenda. That’s why they elected President Donald Trump.
If history is predictive, guess what party will prevail in the next presidential election?

Corrosive for corrosive
Complaining about Jimmy Kimmel’s April 23 segment, Melania Trump wrote on X, “Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. … his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.”
I, on the other hand, would be inclined to say, “President Donald Trump’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.”
I guess we’re even.

Smell the stench
Re “Supreme Court leaks eroding institution from within,” April 25: Dace Potas, an opinion columnist for USA TODAY in the Dispatch, thinks Supreme Court leaks are eroding the institution from within.
I think maybe Dace can’t see the forest for the trees. He is correct that there is plenty of erosion going on, but leaks are just indicators of the cause, which is the Court’s own actions.
Our increasing lack of trust in this lopsided Court’s decisions stems from the Court itself. Clear back to “Citizens United” – corporations are people, too! Dark money, A-OK.
Making up “presidential immunity” out of nothing more than their fabricated gossamer cloth. Our whole country was founded on exactly no F’ng kings, no one above the law. Jeesh!
Justices accepting huge gifts, including million-dollar land yacht RVs and vacations. Flying partisan flags. Arrests are OK, just for being Brown and poor. On and on and on.
Give me a break, Dace. Wake up, see the forest and smell the stench.
