Just hours after the Michigan Wolverines were crowned national champions in Indianapolis, the college basketball offseason will heat up when the transfer portal officially opens on Tuesday, April 7.
This year, the portal is open just 15 days (down from 45 in 2024 and 30 in 2025) and will close on Tuesday, April 21. Players seeking a new opportunity must enter the portal during that window but don’t have to commit to a new program in that span.
Of course, there are already players who have announced their intention to enter the portal. For Xavier, that group consists of guards All Wright and Roddie Anderson III along with big man Anthony Robinson. Xavier forward Jovan Milicevic will return to the Musketeers.
Discussions behind the scenes will come to light when the portal opens Tuesday and Xavier will be linked to several prospects. It begins a pivotal offseason for the Musketeers under Richard Pitino, who went 15-18 in his first season with the Musketeers.
Xavier is losing at least nine players (six out of eligibility) from that squad and will look to supplement next year’s roster with additions from the portal to go along with a few returners and the 2026 recruiting class.
Follow along here for all Xavier-related transfer portal news from departures, commitments, rumors and other newsworthy items.
