Compared to last week’s heat wave, conditions in the Stark County area may feel a bit more comfortable this week.
Highs through the week in the Akron-Canton area will be in the mid to high 80s, according to the National Weather Service, with storms expected in the first half of the week. The agency issued a hazardous weather outlook for conditions expected June 30.
“Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected today,” according to the outlook. “Storms during the afternoon and evening hours could reach strong to severe limits with damaging wind gusts as the main storm threat. Storms could also produce brief, heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding.”
There’s a 90% chance of precipitation in the Akron-Canton area June 30 and a 60% chance July 1. From there, the forecast looks clear of rain until July 6, which has a 40% chance of precipitation.
