The America 250 and Miss Ohio Week Kickoff is three days of fun ― June 12, 13 and 14 at the Richland Carrousel Park.
On Friday, June 12, the carrousel will feature Nashville songwriter/artist Corey Hager performing 5-8 p.m. The 2025 Miss Ohio Olivia Fosson will be on hand Friday and Sunday.
Admission is free.
The big grill will be sizzling and Biergarten beer will be for sale as the carrousel spins.
The fun continues at the Richland Carrousel Park June 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by the Mid Ohio Kids Fest, with fun for the whole family on the lawn at 75 N. Main St., according to Joyce Wells, chief executive officer of the Richland Carrousel Park.
Mid-Ohio Kids Fest will offer carnival and lawn games and Sodie Shack will be on site with dirty sodas for sale. There will be grilling out and carrousel rides for purchase. Lawn games are free.
On June 14, the Miss Ohio Parade starts at Park Avenue West and Marion Avenue at 2 p.m., ending at the carrousel on Walnut Street where the public can get autographed photos of the Miss Ohio and Miss Ohio’s Teen contestants.
Change of venue for Miss Ohio stage
The Miss Ohio and Miss Ohio’s Teen contestants will compete in June at Ashland High School, as the historic Renaissance Theatre won’t be available due to restoration work.
The Renaissance Theatre seats will be removed May 18 and taken to Irwin Seating Co. in Walker, Michigan to be restored, a nine-week project, said Chelsie Thompson, president and CEO of the Renaissance Theatre.
All other Miss Ohio Week events will be held in Mansfield.
