North Union’s Griffin Osborne ran back a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, caught five balls for 53 yards and made 12 tackles on defense.
It was enough for fans to crown him the winner of the Marion Star Football Player of Week 10 Poll. Osborne earned 366 of 701 votes (52 percent) to win it.
Other nominees were Elgin’s Brennon Luikart, Mount Gilead’s Carson Barnum, Cardington’s Wyatt Denney and Northmor’s Carson Campbell.
Here is a list of the other weekly winners for the 2025 high school football season in the Marion area:
Week 9: Northmor’s Tanner Miley who ran 25 times for 213 yards and a touchdown, plus completed 13 of 17 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Cardington.
Week 8: Osborne picked off three passes and made six tackles, plus ran it 16 times for 99 yards and a score in a win over Northwestern.
Week 7: Osborne rushed for 103 yards on 13 carries and scored a 43-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to beat Benjamin Logan.
Week 6: Barnum ran 35 times for 181 yards and three touchdowns in a win over East Knox.
Week 5: Ridgedale’s Ayden Salyer caught three passes for 135 yards with all going for touchdowns, plus he added a rushing touchdown in a win over Upper Scioto Valley.
Week 4: Elgin’s Archer Johnston rushed for 205 yards, a touchdown and a 2-point conversion on 27 attempts, plus he made seven tackles and recovered a fumble in a win over Ridgemont.
Week 3: Osborne made a game-winning 13-yard catch, while adding 57 rushing yards, eight receptions for 78 yards and an interception on defense in a win over Northmor.
Week 2: Miley scored the game-winning 19-yard touchdown in overtime also completing 10 of 17 passes for 202 yards and two more touchdowns in a win over Seneca East.
Week 1: No winner due to technical difficulties with the poll.
