New Browns WR KC Concepcion picks a number and explains why

After an exciting three days, the 2026 NFL draft has come to an end with rookie minicamps right around the corner, as players will take the field for the first time with their new teams. The first wide receiver the Browns selected, with the 24th overall pick, former Texas A&M player KC Concepcion, joined fellow first-round pick Spencer Fano at the Browns facility following night one of the draft.

The Browns posted a video of Concepcion looking at his first Browns jersey, and he explained why he chose the number 17. Concepcion explained that he wore number 1 in high school and number 7 his last year in college, and decided to combine them for his NFL number.

Of course, there’s a chance that at some point he could change this number before the season. Once teams cut their rosters down to 53, someone on the roster might already have the number he wants, and if they are cut or moved, he might decide to switch.
