Cincinnati native and Local 12 (WKRC-TV) reporter Paige Barnes is leaving the Queen City for a new opportunity.
The Wyoming High School graduate announced on social media that she is leaving Local 12 and returning to her former station, WSBT-TV, in Granger, Indiana.
“Thank you, Local 12, for allowing me to make a difference in my community. Continue to be the change you wish to see in the world,” Barnes said in a Sept. 15 Facebook post, calling the move “bittersweet.”
Her last day at the TV news station is Sept. 17.
Barnes rejoins WSBT as the station’s evening co-anchor. She previously worked at the station from September 2021 to May 2023 before joining Local 12 in June 2023.
“My parents are supportive of my decision. They raised me to be ambitious and disciplined. No ‘half butting’ if you will. I moved to Cincy so they could see their unwavering support right at home. How many other journalists can say their parents tuned in every night (or set their DVR)?” she wrote on social media.
