Three former star athletes and a championship coach were inducted into the Licking Valley Hall of Fame on Feb. 21.
Ramen Felumlee, a 2019 graduate, shined in cross country and track for the Panthers. He later was an All-American runner at Cedarville.
Felumlee won the Licking County League championship in cross country as a senior in 2018 and earned All-Ohio honors at the state meet. In track, he placed fourth in the 800-meter run at the Division II state meet to earn All-Ohio honors, and he still holds the school record in the event.
Michael Hinger, a 2002 graduate, was a three-sport standout for the Panthers.
Hinger starred at safety as a junior for the football team and earned All-Ohio Division IV Defensive Player of the Year honors, leading the Panthers to a league and regional championship. At quarterback as a senior, he threw for 1,191 yards and 15 touchdowns, again earning All-Ohio first-team recognition while leading the Panthers to league and regional championships and a trip to the state final.
Hinger averaged 17.5 points per game for the Panthers’ basketball team as a senior. He finished his career just shy of 1,000 points.
Drew Ryan, a 2009 graduate, was a three-sport standout for the Panthers, earning Mid-State League honors six times. He later was an All-American baseball player at Urbana.
Ryan was a three-year starter for the football team, first as a receiver and defensive back and eventually as a quarterback, recording the program’s first season of 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 passing yards in 2008. He played on three league championship teams and two regional championship teams, helping the Panthers reach the Division III state final in 2007.
Ryan was a four-year starter for the baseball team, earning MSL honors three times and helping the Panthers win two MSL championships. He also was named team Most Valuable Player for the basketball program his senior year.
Lori Guest taught and coached at Valley for three decades, retiring in 2013. She coached girls track, volleyball and girls golf, winning eight league championships.
Guest coached six girls track teams to league championships, including one team to the district and regional championship as well. Guest had 19 athletes earn All-Ohio honors at the state meet, including back-to-back Division II state championships for Heather Sole in the high jump.
Guest coached two volleyball teams to district runner-up honors, and two of her players were named Central District Player of the Year, earning All-Ohio honors. She coached the girls golf team to two league championships and was named Central District Coach of the Year in 2013.
