Ohio’s two Six Flags amusement parks have new leaders.
The parent company of Cedar Point and Kings Island has announced that it is restoring the position of park presidents at 10 parks in the chain formed through the merger with Cedar Fair.
Six Flags says the move will make parks like Cedar Point and Kings Island more responsive as the chain looks to meet guest demand and amid more competition for entertainment dollars.
“These changes are about putting leadership, expertise and accountability as close to our guests and team members as possible,” said John Reilly, president and CEO of Six Flags, in a statement. “By strengthening park-level leadership, and aligning our support model with our strategic priorities, we’re empowering our teams to move faster, innovate locally and deliver exceptional experiences every day.”
The parks affected include:
The leadership changes will take effect for the summer season.
“The ultimate goal is simple: to consistently deliver the best possible guest and team member experience across all parks,” Reilly said. “With the introduction of these park presidents, we are confident we have the right leaders in place to unlock the full potential of our parks and elevate performance.”
Colleen Brady, Cedar Point’s new president, will be charged with leading the amusement park and its adjacent Cedar Point Shores waterpark along with its resort hotel properties and an indoor waterpark.
Brady has 31 years of experience including as the general manager of Wildwater Kingdom in Aurora before its closure and leadership roles at Cedar Point.
“I’m most excited to build on the incredible talent of our team—empowering them to innovate grow and deliver experiences that keep guests coming back to Cedar Point year after year,” she said in a statement.
Tony Carovillano will be the president at Kings Island and its waterpark Soak City.
He previously held leadership roles at Carowinds, Worlds of Fun and at Kings Island.
“Kings Island is a fun family tradition in Cincinnati and recognized by many across the world,” Carovillano said in a statement. “I look forward to keeping what makes the park so special − for our associates and for our guests − while continuing to thrill, excite and entertain with every investment we make.”
